Vacuum Metallizing Coating Machine

Evaporation aluminum coating machine is a machine that uses substances to evaporate and deposit on a substrate in a high vacuum environment to form a thin film. This type of equipment is widely used in multiple fields, including construction hardware, watchmaking, furniture, lighting fixtures, hotel utensils, etc.

Vacuum evaporation coating machine mainly includes the following steps:

1. Clean the surface of the substrate to ensure that the walls of the vacuum chamber and the surface of the substrate frame are free of oil stains, rust, etc., to ensure the purity and adhesion of the film layer.

2. Preparation before plating, including vacuuming to an appropriate vacuum degree, pre-treatment of the substrate and coating material, heating the substrate to remove moisture and enhance the adhesion between the film and substrate.

3. During the evaporation stage, select the appropriate substrate temperature and plating material evaporation temperature, control the deposition pressure, i.e. vacuum degree, and affect the average free path of gas molecule movement in the evaporation space.

Vacuum coating machine consists of a vacuum pumping system and an evaporation chamber, wherein the vacuum pumping system includes a high vacuum pump, a low vacuum pump, an exhaust pipeline, valves, etc., and may also include a cold trap and a vacuum measuring meter.

Vacuum plating machine has advantages such as high deposition rate, precise control, suitability for multiple materials, high-quality films, high deposition capacity, environmental protection, and economy.

The system uses base and top coats that are automotive quality coatings. The second surface vacuum metalizing process involves depositing the evaporated metal on a clear substrate (glass or clear plastic) and back coating the metal with an opaque paint. This process has been used to decorate automotive emblems for exterior applications.

Vacuum Metallization Coating System for Caps and Bottle Industry

Vacuum Metalizing can be applied to: Plastics, Metals, Glass, Urethanes, Fiberglass, Ceramic, SLA's, Paper products and many other materials. Products such as: Headlamp and Tail Lamp Reflectors, Automotive and Motorcycle trim, Hardware, Lamp Reflectors, Advertising Display Items, Emblems, Trophies, Packaging films, Toys, Fishing Lures and novelty items are some of the many products that are Vacuum Metalized.

Base coating: For most decorative and reflective applications it is necessary to apply a specially formulated primer or basecoat to promote adhesion and to provide a smooth surface, assuring a high quality surface for the metalizing or finish paint steps.

Then vacuum metalizing itself

Top coating: Only when it requires, topcoat is applied to enhance, moisture, abrasion, and chemical resistance.

Remark All the specifications can be customized according to your requests.

Vacuum metallizing coating is an economic method to apply the high quality reflective metallic finishing on plastic substrates. This machine is very fast cycle. You may apply this thermal evaporation coating for different industries.

Some of the products only need the silver/chroming effect. But some of them need to be colorful. Then the customers will need other machines to apply the colors.

Frequently Asked Questions
? What is a vacuum metallization coating system?
It is an advanced machinery system that evaporates metal substances and deposits them onto various substrates within a high-vacuum chamber, creating a thin, highly reflective, and durable film finish.
? What types of materials can be coated using this process?
This process is highly versatile and can be applied to a wide range of materials, including plastics, metals, glass, urethanes, fiberglass, ceramics, SLA's, paper products, and more.
? What are the primary steps involved in the vacuum coating process?
The process consists of three main stages: first, cleaning the substrate surface to ensure proper adhesion; second, pre-treating and heating the chamber to eliminate moisture; and third, evaporating the source metal under controlled deposition pressure.
? Why are base coats and top coats necessary in metallization?
A primer or basecoat is used to create a smooth surface and improve metal adhesion. A topcoat is applied afterward when necessary to boost resistance to moisture, abrasion, and chemicals.
? Are the machine specifications and configurations customizable?
Yes, all technical parameters—such as overall dimensions, single or double door chamber structures, control systems, and specific vacuum pump integrations—can be fully customized to meet your distinct production needs.
? How is the system secured and shipped to prevent damage?
Once the machinery passes test runs, it is carefully disassembled. Component parts are then packed securely using solid standard export packaging to ensure safe delivery without any structural damage.
